Verizon CITE New England Team Chairs the Urban League of Eastern Massachusetts (ULEM)'s 17th Annual Gala Auction

Urban League of Eastern Massachusetts celebrated its 17th Annual Gala at the Seaport World Trade Center in Boston. The event, chaired by Cleve L. Killingsworth, Chairman and CEO of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts honored Leonard F. Broderick, President & CEO of Tremont Credit Union, Clementina (Tina) M. Chery of the Louis D. Brown Peace Institute, Isaura Mendes of The Bobby Mendes Peace Legacy, and D. JacQuie Cairo-Williams of Garden of Peace.

The event gathered 900 corporate business leaders, non-profit partners and residents to help raise $500,000 to support ULEM's workforce development programs.

Verizon CITE New England volunteers served as the event's auction committee, raising $24,000 worth of auction items from local businesses.

Thanks to the leadership of Verizon CITE New England members, ULEM met its fundraising goal. CITE New England volunteers include: Steve Alkins, vice president; Wanda Cox; Stephanie Lee; Brenda Mutcherson, president; Marjorie Ramsey; Peter Ridgard; Priscilla Thomas; and Denice Ware.
