Verizon Wireless Volunteers build hope for the future with Habitat for Humanity in Alpharetta, Georgia

Verizon Wireless volunteers from the Alpharetta, Georgia area gathered at a construction site in Gainesville, Florida along with future homeowner Amy Fleenor, a survivor of domestic violence, to help her and her four sons rebuild their lives.

More than 50 Verizon Wireless volunteers showed up over the course of two weekends “Credo-minded” and committed to making the world in which we live and work better than it was yesterday!

Amy felt, “thankful, blessed, honored, amazed, relieved, anxious, and ready” when she found out that she was approved for a home. She was excited to receive the keys to her house, knowing that her family would have a permanent place to live. “We have faced many trials and tribulations but we are strong and we have so much more to grow and become… [this new home will] lead the way to better things!”

Verizon Wireless was one of the sponsors for this project through HopeLine, our cell phone recycling and reuse program, where we are able to make a difference in the lives of those affected by domestic violence.
