Texas Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst and dozens of education leaders from throughout the country attended a reception at the Witte Museum in San Antonio to discuss education and learn more about Thinkfinity.org.

The Verizon Foundation's Jennifer Fritschi introduced many in the audience to Thinkfinity.org through a demonstration focusing on resources on topics ranging from the Alamo to the inventions of Leonardo da Vinci.

The Lt. Gov. said that he is proud of the partnerships he has formed with educators throughout the state and complimented Verizon for its strong investment in education and thinkfinity.org.

"Every day teachers spend hours developing lesson plans to help pique the interest of their students while developing the skills needed for the workforce of tomorrow," said Patrick Gaston, Verizon Foundation president. "Through Thinkfinity.org teachers can quickly find compelling, engaging, interactive material, while also simplifying classroom preparation time."

Many Verizon senior leaders including Gaston and Carl Erhart, Verizon Southwest region president, were among those attending the event.

The reception, held Monday, June 30, was one of several Verizon Foundation events at the National Educational Computing Conference designed to showcase the free resources available to students, teachers and parents at Thinkfinity.org.
