Matching Gifts Program

The Verizon Foundation is proud to support the personal philanthropic investments made by Verizon employees and retirees by making contributions to the organizations where our employees donate their time and money. In 2010, the Verizon Foundation matched $13.4 million in employee donations in support of the contributions to non-profit organizations most important to them.

  • Team Incentive Program (TIP) - Teams of 10 or more employees who collectively raise funds for a qualified nonprofit or public school can apply for a grant that matches their fundraising, up to $10,000 per event location.

  • Matching Incentive Program (MIP) - Employees and retirees can have their contributions matched in one or more categories of giving that meet eligibility criteria.

  • Disaster Relief Incentive Program (DRIP) - This program may be activated by the Verizon Foundation during times of natural disaster and other events. When activated, DRIP provides matching funds of employee donations to qualifying disaster relief organizations as identified by the Verizon Foundation.
  • Payroll Incentive Program (PIP) and United Way Employees can donate a portion of their paychecks to health and human service agencies, including United Way.

Steps to earn an MIP Grant

  1. Make a monetary donation
  2. Register your donation
  3. Instruct non-profit organization to confirm receipt of donation
  4. MIP checks are mailed quarterly

Please be sure to abide by all Matching Gifts Program rules. Only those application that adhere to the rules will be considered for approval and payout. All Matching Gift requests are subject to review by Verizon Internal Audit and Verizon Security. As stated in the code of Conduct, Verizon does not tolerate falsification or improper alteration of records. Failure to comply with any provision of the Code or company policy is a serious violation, and may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
