About the Program
The Team Fundraising Program offers support to teams of 10 or more employees who participate in cause-related walks/runs/bike events with an eligible nonprofit organization. To qualify, each team member must raise funds and participate in the organized event. Team members can have their funds matched up to $1,000 per member and up to $10,000 per team event.
The cause-related event must be open to the public with more than just the Verizon team participating. The Verizon team must engage in the event in the same way as other teams (the event cannot be modified for VZ employees for the purpose of utilizing the Team Fundraising program).
Pay-to-play events do not qualify for the Team Program. With pay-to-play events there is a monetary fee for the privilege to engage (play) the event. The fee in pay-to-play is the fundraising component of the event. Most charity golf events fall into this category.
Eligible Organizations:
• U.S.: Most U.S. based 501(C)(3) organizations, U.S. public and private schools and U.S. accredited colleges and universities.
